In Graz, „LebensGroß“ has founded a theatre academy for people with disabilities. Together with Georg Schütky and the theatre group „Planetenparty Prinzip“ they are making an opera. It is called „Beggar’s Opera“. Artists with and without disabilities are musically recreating it. The opera is about criticism of society. And also of the theatre. Important questions are “Who is on stage?” and “Who owns the opera?”.
The classical music of the opera is refreshed with modern instruments and good ideas.
The personal stories of the artists with and without disabilities should be mixed into the original story. The opera should be funny, topical, and personal.

Momo is an extraordinary girl. She lives on the outskirts of the city and has a special gift. Momo gives people her time. She listens to people.
Time is in danger because the grey masters want to steal people’s time. Their time for friendship, playing and doing nothing. Together with the turtle Kassiopeia, Momo bravely confronts the time thieves.
The story of Momo is very up to date. The world is fast and also functions via computers and mobile phones. This has an influence on our personal use of time. Mobile phones and computers take up a lot of time that could be used for many other things. The story of Momo is retold with these challenges of our world in mind.

The story is about the chameleon Charlie. Charlie can’t recognize colours very well. This is difficult for a chameleon. It usually camouflages itself by changing colours so it can hide. His friend’s name is Florina. She is a bat and hard of hearing. That is also difficult. Bats use their sense of hearing to know where they are and where they need to go. There is a third friend. The monkey Alfalfa. Monkeys are normally good at climbing, but Alfalfa has a physical disability. Alfalfa moves around with somersaults.
The children’s play is barrier-free. The director and co-actor has a visual impairment himself.
The story is told in a way that even people who cannot see can imagine it. There is also singing.

McBee herself slips into different roles such as an artist, a fire eater or lion tamer. The children are involved in the play.
The children play without speaking. This gives them more opportunities to express themselves. The children can be creative and try out new ideas. It is also about understanding that people are different.
The Living Circus is a programme developed for children in primary school. The programme promotes the development of the perception of one’s own body and the interaction of movement and feelings.
McBee’s real name is Sabine Wallner. She calls herself the ambassador of culture without words. Sabine has a hearing impairment. That’s why she has a special approach to being an actress without words. She has been working as a mime in Graz for 20 years.

In the guided tour we get to know the exhibition “Protest!”. One look in the newspapers and television shows us that many people are protesting today.
The exhibition “Protest!” shows that today and in the past, many people in Graz also stand up for important issues: for the environment, for human rights or for better working conditions.
During the tour we also talk about protests by and for people with disabilities. Because many people have already stood up for the rights of people with disabilities.
We ask ourselves the questions: “When is it important to protest?” and “How does one stand up for oneself?” or “What is so difficult about it?”
